This is not coming from a bitter or angry person. This is an honest review of my experience with Dr. Anne Kearney Cooke. She has written many books and has been on the Today Show many times, but in my 9 years of experience with her as my sister's psychologist, you would never know she has such an impressive resume. My sister suffers from anorexia, anxiety, OCD, and depression. She has been seeing Anne for years and has gotten worse by the day. Not only has Anne missed 3 appointments leaving my sister waiting in the parking lot of her office wondering where her doctor is, but when my family finally decided to have a meeting with Anne concerned that my sister was worse off than ever, Anne told us to send her to a rehab center for an evaluation. Isn't Anne an award winning psychologist? What have we been paying her the big bucks for these past few years if she can't evaluate her herself? Not to mention, when my sister was worse off than ever and almost physically disabled from her anxiety, Anne had no idea and told my sister she is ready to make the move away from home for a job.
I am sure Anne is a good person, an intelligent doctor, and a good writer. But, her days of caring and being there for her patients may be over. She is more of a writer now, and not the best psychologist. Please take this as a kind and caring warning.
