Hired Mr. Russell to build a new home. Our 5 month build turned into a 1 year build that ended in a lawsuit he filed against us for nonpayment of services which he never completed. Our countersuit was gravely more than his lawsuit and we tried to get him to court for 6 years, but his counsel never allowed it to happen. After numerous issues in the home soon after moving in from plumbing, electrical, gas, water damage, issues to cabinets and mold throughout the home, we decided to also invite inspections back out to take a look. They confirmed a number of items that should not have passed inspection. Mr. Jimmy Russell has apparently been working his personal business at the same time as holding a full-time over $60K job with the ABSS school system for the majority if not all 10 years. During our build he was on-site during ABSS work hours and mentioned having several other homes going on at the same time. Not surprisingly, the school's in his school district that he is the Project Manager of Facilities for, tested positive for all levels of mold including toxic mold in 2023. It was so severe that they had to delay the start of school for the entire district for weeks. He is not reliable, communicative, honest or timely. He also does not pay attention to detail and appears to make his company a family business which is fine - however, none of the family members appear to be qualified in the positions they are in. His wife, who at the time was over the financials of the company, would invoice us for other clients expenses, charge for expenses not contractually due yet, charge us for items we never bought and would double charge us for multiple expenses we had already paid for. The family member he had build our Trex deck did not install properly. We sent pictures to Trex and they immediately voided our warranty due to improper and poor installation. His brother could not seem to measure stairs properly and I even overheard another worker telling him that. Just steer clear.
