I contracted with Mr. Sampaio to replace my roof. He was responsive and curteous prior to the job and was prompt in performing the job. However, within 1 month following the job we noticed an obvious defect in that a lead tape strip placed under the peak cap had torn away and is hanging on top of the roof. This strip serves to help prevent moss growth on the shingles and needs to be corrected. In addition, the appearance is obviously unacceptable. Since making Mr. Sampaio aware of this defect, he has evaded and avoided any follow up. After MANY attempts to reach him, it is obvious he is not going to stand behind his work and fix the defect. As a result, because a quality roof is so important to your home as well as having a contractor who will stand behind his work, I would recommend you find another roofer instead of Mr. Sampaio. There are many on Martha's Vineyard and you don't need to take a chance with an unethical one or one who doesn't warranty his work.
