I am extremely disgusted with the People's Trust Bank. I seldom make mistakes in my banking but I do. Recently had one and it was an over draft of about $1, yes one lousy dollar. They charged $22 and would not waive. Their excuse was, "It wasn't our fault". Of course I know it was and never said it was. As a courtesy they could look at my history and waive it. But they do not. I guess $22 is more important than a good customer. Stay away from this bank. The fact is you can not tell what kind of bank you are dealing with until you have a problem and it's not their fault. This bank is not good. I also remember a 32 years ago when we had a checking account with them and applied for a mortgage to buy our first house. We were simply told not to bother. They had already had their monthly meeting and most likely we wouldn't qualify for the loan. We were very discouraged. From there I said let's walk over to Franklin Bank. We did. We were directed to a lady in loans, told her our situation. She said they had just had their meeting but she would run it by some of the people anyway based on our credit check. One or two days later we were approved. It was without conditions. But we appreciated it and took our business account out of People's and moved it to Franklin. Years later I started an account again with People's because they were closer to us. I know regret it and will be closing the account again and it will be the last time.
