I am a truck driver who picked up a load of onions in Idaho and the load was going to circus fruit in Brooklyn . I got to New York a day early for my delivery . I called circus fruit and asked them if they wanted the load a day early , they said they would receive it . I had explained to them that it was no problem for me to deliver it the next day , because I live in long Island and I would just go home and come back to deliver it . I got to their location in Brooklyn and I handed them my bill of lading papers and they had me put my cell number on the back and then they told me go park somewhere until they call me to be unloaded . After six hours of waiting I called them to get a idea of when they might get to me . I was told I had to go check in person with the unloaders. I went and found the guy I had given my bills to and he couldn't tell me when or even if they were going to receive the load of onions. I called the company I work for and they said to bring the load to the company's yard and they would have one of the local drivers deliver it the next day . The guy I had given my bills to refused to give the bills back to me . I explained exactly what my company told me and that didn't matter to him . He called his office and they said that they were going to keep the bills no matter what. I told the guy that I couldn't legally leave without a bill of lading for the load . That didn't matter to him . I couldn't believe that a business that depends on truck drivers to supply their business ,with the products they sell, would treat truck drivers so bad. Almost twelve hours now and I am still sitting here and can't leave without the bills. I would have been home with my wife who hasn't seen me in almost two weeks ,having dinner right now. Because they lied to me and are now holding me here like a prisoner, with no bathroom in sight either I might add ; I just can't believe this is really happening . I will never haul a load of anything to these people ,ever again. I hope if there are any other truck drivers, out there ,who read this review ; don't make the same mistake I made . Circus Fruit doesn't care about truck drivers and I bet they really don't care about alot of other things as well like : the quality of the food they sell ,the cleanliness of the food they sell or the safety of the food they sell . If you can't trust a business with being honest about simple things,then they can't be trusted with the big things either.
