Davis Seat Covers manufactures and distributes quality automotive interior products In 1945, the company we know today as Davis Seat Covers and Automotive Interiors started out as Davis Distributors. We were located on Davis Street in downtown Jacksonville, thus the name Davis was coined. At the time, David Armel was the owner, manager, president, treasurer and chief pattern maker. During this time, the company transitioned from selling universal ready-made seat covers into a manufacturer of quality made-to-order custom-tailored seat covers. The "Depend-A-Fit" line was distributed throughout the Southeast United States to car dealers, Western Auto Stores, body shops and automotive trim shops. David's son, , was born in New York City but moved to Jacksonville at the age of 3 weeks. Bob attended school in Jacksonville and graduated from Lee High School. From there, he went on to get a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Florida in Gainesville (Go, Gators!). After graduation, Bob joined his father in the family business. Within 5 years, he had purchased from his father all outstanding stock in the corporation and has been its president since 1972.
