Shocking thievery! I never write reviews, but I hope this helps someone. I was a naive 21 year old E-Nothing in the Navy who was about to propose to an adorable blonde. She picked out her set at this store (then located in the new Frenchtown Square Mall). Since I didn't have the roughly $1,800, I got a loan from my bank and our life together began. Fast-forward 25 years (it sure felt like fast-forward); gold was at the all-time high of around $2,000/ounce and I thought it wise to get an insurance appraisal just in case of loss or damage (our dear friends had their house broken in to and her original ring was stolen). We happily left her set at the store excitedly expecting what my investment 2-1/2 decades before had appreciated to. $120 for the appraisal and 2 weeks later we picked up the set and the envelope. The Carroll Ochs appraiser wrote an insurance appraisal (often vastly over-inflated) at $1,790! 25 years, gold QUINTUPLING in spot price, not even mentioning the diamond spot advancement and her set was STILL worth LESS than we originally paid! I pointed this out to the store and got zero response. I'm all for compensating craftsmen and sales staff... this was inexcusable! Not one to make rash decisions, I've thought of this often for a couple of years now and decided I had to warn others. Again, I hope this helps someone.
