For over a century this small, white church has been a landmark in what was once the Village of Happy Creek. Records in the Warren County Courthouse reflect that on March 19, 1892 a tract of land was purchased by trustees from Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Harrell for the sum of $35.00. Records in the Warren County Courthouse reflect that on March 19, 1892 a tract of land was purchased by trustees from Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Harrell for the sum of $35.00. The current Sanctuary was built shortly afterwards. Over the years, improvements have been made. Oil lamps have been replaced with electric lights, the wood stove first gave way to an oil heater, then to electric baseboard. The "straight and very narrow" light grey pews are now heavy oak.
