Selling your first home can be one of the more stressful, lonely times in your life. That was not the case for me, that is until I met Billy Speaks. It wasn’t until after I moved my from home and had it on the market, that Mr. Speaks elected to start using my driveway for a three-month-long logging job. My driveway was a disaster. He ran over my fencing I had just built. The horseshoe pit I built was gone (sat adjacent to driveway, logging trailers are wide.) Mr. Speaks even ran over my for sale sign! When we informed Billy he was trespassing, his exact words were “I am going to finish this job.” I ended up having to hire a lawyer to deter the man from continuing to damage my property. Although it was Billy Speaks logging clear wrongdoing, he never offered to pay for the lawyer and I was forced to pay the fees (well worth it, as he was damaging my property and almost prevented the sale of my house.) Exercise prudence when dealing with the man. His core philosophy and values may not line up with yours.
