We hired Gerald Burg for our wedding and paid thousands of dollars for his services. Unfortunately, about 5 years after our wedding, we had a house fire and lost everything (at no fault of our own). We were renting and the landlord was smoking in their apartment and the house was destroyed within minutes. We lost all of our wedding photos. We called Mr. Burg and asked him whether we could replace the photographs. He said we were lucky as he was about to throw away the negatives as he did this as routine practice around 5 years. Rather than offer them to us at a discount, or for free since he was discarding them anyway, he offered them to us for several hundred dollars. Given the financial loss that we had gone through, we couldn't afford this kind of price and were forced to decline. He threw the negatives away and we were left with no photographs whatsoever. He actually felt it made more sense to throw out the negatives rather than give us a discount, even in the extreme situation we were in. To be clear, we had ordered 6 photo albums from him for our family and had spent a ton of money during the wedding with him. AVOID him, it's not worth this kind of service.
