I guess people don't remember when Knapp's started out as Enners donuts, then sold it to the Mapes called D@R Donuts for Don and Rainey Mapes. Then Micky Lolich the Tiger baseball pitcher bought it from them, then Knapps took it back as they owned the building to begin with. Don and Rainey taught them all about the donut business and how to make a good donut and they used their recipes. this was in the seventies. Does anyone remember?? PS Don died in Las Cruces N.M. in 2008 and Rainey remarried there.
