In the late 1980's I was a single parent struggling to make ends meet, and under the direction of Chris Wright, the shop forman, I was was given an opportunity for a a "tool search and clean and organize the shop" for 2 days of labor due the company not having piece work sufficient for my needed 40 hours in order to meet my responsibilities (food, gas, childcare, etc). While the check was written for payment of my services, Mr. Dave Barnes refused to sign this check with the reason: "I am unable to charge theses services to a client and so I will not sign the check". I was given no recourse to appeal his decision and so my 5 year old daughter and I had to do without due to this decision. I spoke to him several times about this situation, and he would laugh and walk away as though it were a joke. Because of this, I have to question his honesty and integrity- I terminated my employment immediatly and he seemed surprised that I would not work for him anymore- he followed me to my truck as I left asking me why I would leave his employment- "think about this....why woiuld you leave me about this?" I had to borrow money from my family in order to feed my child the next week. As you can see, working for him did not end on a possitive note.
