Breadmake provides hands-on breadmaking products suitable for children & adults to foster learning in math, science, nutrition, health and life skills Breadmake originated in the Washington DC metro area in cooperation with Fleischmann's Yeast in 1975 for teaching adults to make bread. DC public schools & social services soon incorporated Breadmake into their innercity programs. In 1976 Breadmake Shows were endorsed as official 1776 Bicentennial celebration events. Continuing support by Fleischmann's Yeast fostered development of the Yeasty Beasty Bread Kit used nationwide by 4H clubs. The Honey Bear Breadmake Box, a do-it-yourself approach with cue cards & teacher resources, was created to meet the needs of elementary educators and their students. Trained Breadmake Specialists offer the live Magic Dough Show, an on-site, hands-on bakery field trip. Since its inception, nearly a million kids and adults have become "Breadmakers."
