This is the worst business that I have ever dealt with! I deal with a lot of contractors and have for over 30 years. It is a shame, Finley Gutter used to be a reputable company. For what ever reason, Ron Finley appears to be running his family's business into the ground! I first requested that Mr. Ron Finley of Finley Gutter service place one section of gutter on the side of our roof when he put the gutters on our garage (three years ago this fall). I called to follow up on this in January of this year. Mr. Finley was hired to perform some additional work and said that he would complete the above mentioned section of gutter at the same time. I was told by Tammy Ervin of Finley Gutter Service that he would be out on a couple of different dates but he never showed and there was no correspondence to inform me that he would not be there OR to reschedule a date for him to perform the work. In each instance I had to follow up by phone or email. I ultimately received a call on Friday, February 21 informing me that he would be there on Monday, February 24 to complete the job. Fortunately, I was able to rearrange my schedule and make sure that I was there. This was an inconvenience particularly since This is the worst experience that I have ever had with a business! I deal with a lot of contractors and have for over 30 years. I had to do this on a couple of different occasions prior to this and had to wait around all day while no one showed up. While at my residence to perform the work hired to do, Mr. Finley said that he did not have the gutter on his truck to complete the job. He told me not to worry 'he would be back to put the gutter on soon because he lives in Travelers Rest, S.C.' (close to our residence). I paid for this work in full on February 24, 2020. Since then I have called to follow up on this over a dozen times but never received an answer when Mr. Finley would complete the work paid for. On July 6, 2020 I requested that my money be refunded. Ms. Ervin informed me that Mr. Finley was on vacation and that she would let him know that I had called. The only time I have received a call back by Ms. Erwin (since 2/21/20) was when she left a message on 7/14/20. In Ms. Ervin's message on 7/14/20 she informed me that Mr. Finley had to change the size of the gutter to be made to 5 inchs. Ms. Erwin continued to say that Mr. Finley would be out to our residence to install the section of gutter (mentioned above) during the week of July 19, 2020 and that she “would stay on him” to ensure the work was completed. The week of 7/19/20 came and went and again Mr. Finley failed to show up. I have yet to hear anything from Ms. Erwin or Mr. Finley until I sent an email on 7/28/20. In the email I requested that I receive the refund that requested on 7/6/20 or to complete the work that I paid for by 8/8/20. Ms. Erwin responded to my email. In her response Ms. Erwin informed me that she never said he would be out to our residence the week of 7/19/20 (even though I have the voice mail that proves that she told me this). Ms. Ervin also stated “ I will give a printed copy of your email to Ron Finley and let you know his response.” I have yet hear anything. I requested that I be refunded the money that I have paid or the work promised (and paid for) be completed. I am typing this letter on 8/17/20 and Finley Gutter Service has not fulfilled the job that they were paid to do back on February, 24 2020. To say that I’m frustrated is an understatement. Mr. Finley and his company Finley Gutter Service are clearly in breach of their fiduciary duty. I would hate to have other potential customers have to go through what I have had to go through.
