Bathtub Refinishing If the surface of the tub has been painted or refinished before, the old paint will need to be chemically stripped so that we start with the original surface. The Surface is then thoroughly cleaned with an Industrial Cleaner which removes any impurities and etches the porcelain to ensure proper adhesion. Next the surface is sanded to additionally prepare it to receive the new material. We then do a Professional Spray Application of two coats of an Aerospace Primer. This is a Bonding Agent which sets the surface up. We then apply an additional three coats of a High Grade Urethane Topcoat. This is what gives the High Gloss Bright White Shine! The process takes 3-5 hours and the material is DRY IN 4 HOURS!
