I would strongly caution anyone from using Jay Hooper to do your real estate home inspection. In our situation (2012) he claimed that the heat and air conditioning system was working fine in his written report. After we moved in, we found that it actually wasn't working. Two different HVAC technicians (Carlson's and Renaud Electric) advised us that our heat pump had not been working in years. In fact, it was unplugged from its power source! His inspection report also indicated that our built-in microwave was working. It wasn't. When our real estate sales agent confronted him about these costly discrepancies, he basically lied and claimed the heat pump and microwave had been working when he did his inspection. Of course Mr. Hooper is happy to take your money for his "expert" opinion, but in reality, it isn't worth the paper its written on. He made no efforts to rectify or correct the situation, No apologies or offer to refund the hundreds of dollars we paid for his incompetent report were ever made. Our advice... steer clear of this guy.

I have had multiple homes inspected by Mr. Hooper and not once have we ever experienced anything but exceptional service & high quality work. He is actually a highly respected professional in the industry.
Sorry Mr. Ray that you have seemingly placed blame on Mr. Hooper for something that doesnt even fall in the scope of practice for Home Inspectors. This would be your responsibility.
