Don't join Better Bodies Fitness and Weight Loss Center if your life circumstances could change! I recently joined this gym because my employer paid for a membership. I signed up for their nutritional Fit4Life program and paid over $200 for personal training beyond the portion my company paid for. They were decent people -- I had no problems until I switched jobs five months later. My new employer is 17 miles away from the gym. In order to be successful in a weight loss program, convenience is key -- at least for me it is. If it doesn't fit into my daily schedule, it's not going to work. A gym that's 17 miles away is definitely not convenient. When I called to cancel my membership, the owner of the gym -- Todd Mills, told me that he can't work with me. He claimed that if he bent the rules for me he would have to bend them for everyone else. The rule in the contract states that the location has to be outside 20 miles -- so I fall four miles short. I told him that if what he told me at my first visit about why he opened a gym was the truth, he should have my best interests at heart. He told me it's like a lease -- I have a commitment. I told him that if I had a lease and got a job out of town, I would talk to my landlord to see if we could work something out. If they're a good business person and value their reputation, we would compromise.
