3 hours ago Terrible business. Rental neighbor is having septic put in. They knock on the door of our house where my elderly mother answers and the owner, Herb, himself asks to remove 1 panel of our fence because he needs "just a couple inches" to get his equipment thru. She agrees. This is Friday at 300 pm. She asks if fence will be up by Monday. He is unable to give her a time frame. Half an hour later she calls me in a panic because he and his company have taken down 3/4 of the fence and all the posts. They tore up my mother's chicken wire garden attached to the fence and the hanging jasmine on the fence in addition to the large grooves from their bob cat. They also left for the day with no information as to when they will be putting it back up. We have 2 large dogs. We need a fenced yard. I began calling his business at 330 pm to have him place the fence back up. I was repeatedly told that he would come back out to put it up today. Never got a call back as of 600 pm no one had showed back up. I began calling and got his answering service. They got in touch with Herb and I was told he was picking up a needed piece of equipment and was on his way. He finally arrived around 615 pm. No apology, no concern. Just a "We're gonna get it back up." I told him good. I need it up tonight. He offered to "compensate us" by offering to remove a stump in a front yard. I told him no because that stump is on the neighbors property, I just need a fenced yard. He and another worker were out there working for about a half an hour. I went outside after that time only to see him and his worker pulling off and leaving. Fence still not up and he left without telling us again when our fence would be back up. I tried calling his answering service again several times and was told that he was not answering his calls by the answering service receptionist. Finally an hour later I called from a different number and the answering service told me that "Herb is refusing to take your call. He'll have to get in touch with you tomorrow." Direct quote. Avoid this business.
