He spent the necessary time reviewing with me what he would do and always welcomed my input. I have had Mark working on our home for the past 20 years. He has replaced decks, replaced all windows and outside doors, re shingled the entire house, completely remodeled one bathroom, added on a kitchen/dining room addition, and has completed the second floor interior finish work on two bedrooms and a full bath. Benson Builders is a very professional company. They renovated a house for us in Pocasset Massachusetts from 2006 thru 2008. Now Benson Builders are completing a renovation for another home we bought in Pocasset. These projects have required extensive inside and outside work. New siding, windows and roofs, plus finishing basements gutting and rebuilding both kitchens. The work and the details look excellent, finished on time and on budget. Mark Benson has done a number of construction projects for us over the years - some big, some small - but all completed with the same level of perfection and high quality. The first big job was a major kitchen renovation to an 85 year old Cape. There were small rooms, old windows, plumbing problems and antiquated wiring. Mark helped with the design and layout of the space and then executed the design perfectly. Whenever there was a problem – not unusual in an old house – Mark was always there with a list of possible solutions and recommendations for us. We always felt comfortable, as if he was on our side. To this day, we are extremely pleased with the way the kitchen turned out. More recently, Mark and his team were scheduled to replace an old elevated deck on my father’s house in Onset. It looked like an easy job but once demolition started, it became obvious that the entire rear of the home had to be removed and replaced due to rot caused by salt water penetration over the years. The job expanded to include a new roof, new skylights, new sliding glass doors, additional windows, new siding, repaired masonry, new footings and new shingles. Mark stayed at the job, provided frequent updates and revised estimates throughout the lengthy rebuild. As with all of his work, the team was composed of true craftsmen who worked hard each day but left the job site absolutely spotless – every day! He likely won't be the cheapest but he truly will be the best.

When I purchased my lake house Mark started off with replacing my roof and sliders. 20 years later we have done a gut and complete remodel. During the intervening years he has done countless jobs for me, including repairing my principle residence when it sustained substantial water damage. He is great from consultation to problem solving to taking care of every little detail on the job. Top quality, highest recommendation possible.

I have a waterfront property that I bought in 1999 as a vacation home. I engaged Benson Builders to replace all the windows and exterior doors in the house, completely rebuild a wrap around porch, build custom mahogany railings and lattice panels, hand nail a new Ipe deck, and replace cedar shingle siding, doors and architectural roof shingles on the garage. They did all the interior and exterior painting. Mark Benson worked at times with a crew of 4 and other times by himself. He is like Norm on PBS' This Old House: he can do anything and does everything well. I would listen to Mark's ideas as he has a wealth of experience with coastal construction methods and materials. He also has a keen sense of architectural design. Mark has maintained the house (occasional repairs and small projects and periodic repainting of decks, railings, and trim), and has run over to the house on his own to check on it after storms or icy weather conditions. I trust him without reservation, and have always found him to be honest, practical, and fair in our dealings.
