Wow, by the previous 2 reviews, seem very similar in cases not being completed! I moved from CA to Texas and after 2 separate paralegals left me hanging on getting my divorce, I found Elizabeth on Thumbtack and decided to have her handle my divorce case. She was very friendly and accommodating in the beginning, seemed very professional, and fair priced, I paid immediately in Oct. 2023 and told my divorce should be completed within a few months (I had already filed and a few documents were already in, it was to simply finish what was needed). It is now a few days from July 2024 and my case was rejected a second time. No LDA stamp, multiple errors from my sons birthday, to default not reflecting what the petition stated. I reached out multiple times and let her know in May that documents were once again rejected and requested a refund due to services not being completed. She said I berated her professionalism, when that is not in my character, I simply was assertive and expressed what I was feeling, requesting and that I was not happy. One of her replies were that I was supposed to appear before the judge, I have never been requested, if anything was requested, it would have been via virtual hearing or phone as I am NOT IN CA and over 2000 miles away, which she knows. I feel she took on more than she should have and didn't have enough knowledge for San Joaquin County courts. Now I am left unable to complete my divorce from a toxic ex. She could make it right by refunding the money I paid in order for me to find someone who can complete the correct documents, has follow through and won't have my case rejected again.

If I could give her less than 1-star, I would. Although I personally have not used her services, someone close to me has. His divorce has not been finalized in 3 years! I've had to Google search the forms that she has provided to have him fill out only to discover there is no need. She has no clue what she's doing. She's very hard to get a hold of and never wants to meet in person to go over details. She has no problem getting paid for a service she doesn't help complete. My advice to anyone researching for help in a divorce, do not use Elizabeth Gomez!

I met with Elizabeth Gomez two years ago to help me with an uncontested divorce. Anyway, I paid her the fee she asked for and was told she could have everything finalized in six months. That was two years ago and she failed miserably. My documents were returned several times from the courthouse for being incomplete. Each time, I would call Elizabeth to see what was going on. She would assure me this was normal. Well, it's been two years and I've had to hire an attorney to help me complete this. Elizabeth has failed to return calls. Very unprofessional.
