It all began years ago when Paul Woodard (Big Daddy) was only 7 years old, and was intrigued by watching his Dad and Uncle working.
Today's known best bbq in Birmingham did not come overnight though. Woodard continued learning while watching his Mom and Auntie cook at home, and of course his Dad working the grills and smokers. It was hard for him to work his way to the "cook" position at home, but he got some hands on experience while working his way through high- school.
