Scottwood Capital Management oversaw $1 billion in assets. The firm returned all outside investor funds in 2011 after 10 years in business. The firm's track record showed 12% net annualized returns from its inception of December 2001 through 2011. Performance had little correlation with the financial markets and other hedge funds. Led by founder and chief investment officer Edward "Eddie" Perlman, Scottwood was known for alpha generation and a contrarian investment philosophy. The firm's best year was 2009 when it was up 44.05% net. Its worst year was 2008 when it was down 7.65% net. Scottwood in 2010 was ranked as a Top 100 Hedge Fund in the Barron's annual Penta list, based on one- and three-year performance. The firm also won a 1st Place Award from Hedge Fund Markets in 2009 for best event-driven hedge fund in the U.S. The firm had 16 employees. Following the return of all client capital, Scottwood has converted into the Perlman Family Office. Outside investor funds are no longer accepted.
