by meme 01/09/2012 Hugh White Contracting is an excellent contractor for a number of services. In the last year, he has installed a new Trek deck, built a detached two car garage with a second story storage area, and converted our old two car attached garage into two bedrooms, a bath and a laundry room. The two most remarkable features of his work were 1, that each job came in at the quoted price, no cost over-runs and 2) each job was completed in under the time predicted,. For instance, the new two car garage was built from scratch and finished in less than four weeks. All of his work passed all town inspections with no problems whatsoever. He and his crew worked in all weather and were conscientious about both noise and the way the property was left after each day's work and when completely finished. He is also extremely trustworthy and we learned that we could leave him at and in the house while we were away. We would recommend Hugh to anyone and would welcome any prospective customer to see his work on our property on Shelter Island. If there were any drawbacks, it was occasionally with his choice of sub-contractors. However, if we had an issue with any of them, he resolved the issue directly with them to our satisfaction. We would rate his work five star.
