I understand that 19 Entertainment produces the show American Idol. My family have been enjoying the show for years. We personally know 6 Idol winners from North Carolina and Ohio and remain friends with their families. So, it is with great regret that I send this letter to say we will no longer view or encourage viewing of the show American Idol. The reason for this is clear! Today the news media has been displaying the tacky exchange between Nicky M, and Mariah C. What a tragic display for our youth and the real spirit of the entire competition. We think Miss Nicky needs to be removed as a judge. Buy out her contract and replace her! There is no need to reduce American Idol to a ghetto, gangland example of tv viewing for the purpose of expanding your ratings. If Nicky wants to issue threats of shooting Mariah C, she needs to be behind bars instead of a camera. That woman is NOT the type of "entertainment" example that viewers wish to see. I have it on good authority from previous winners that some of your producers think episodes like this are funny. Threats about shooting another human being is NOT funny! Grow up, show some restraint and select a new judge who was NOT raised in a thug environment. You have officially lost viewers in the NC area and we are not the only ones who will no longer support the current show. Nicky M. is disgusting and she needs to be removed now.
