On July 5, 2014 at approx. 1:30 PM, this services #2 burgundy taxi van was speeding east on Canal Rd, near the Wharf in the right lane, which merges into the left lane. Being a local, they know this lane merges. Traffic was at a standstill going east. Just as traffic began to move, this taxi sped up in the right lane, swerved over into the left, causing me to slam on brakes and swerve hard left into the turn lane to keep from hitting him. This taxi very nearly caused a huge pile-up, almost slamming into the vehicle that was in front of me. I followed this taxi east on Canal Rd to 161. During this time, the taxi swerved back & forth from the bike lane to the turn lane. I reported it to the OB police. I called the taxi service, but they kept hanging up on me. After 3 calls they wouldn't even pick up the phone. Dangerous & cowardly of them.
