Largest African American Owned Operated Funeral Homes in the United States. Bennie Smith Funeral Home is unique in the funeral home industry because it is the largest African American owned funeral home in the United States. Bennie Smith has owned this local funeral planning business since 1982, offering over 30 years of history serving the community. These quality funeral services are available for families throughout the tri-state area, including Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Additionally, Bennie Smith has licenses to provide funeral services in Pennsylvania and New York. With a high commitment to customer satisfaction, Bennie Smith Funeral Home has built an unwavering reputation in the local funeral planning industry. The funeral planning staff never accepts second-best. They work hard to accommodate the requests of each family, ensuring a personalized service for every event. These quality funeral services can include traditional funeral events and processions, or life celebrations, cremation services, memorial ceremonies, and graveside events. Families desiring cremation should talk to the staff for information about cremation packages. The on-site crematory gives families peace in knowing where the cremation will occur. Choose between cremation with memorial service or direct cremation, if desired. Other available cremation services include water cremation (resomation), ash scattering services, urns, and products for honoring life.
