It’s been years since I contracted Scott for a friend. Our friend had her 2-Hot Water Heaters needing replacement on the weekend. Scott responded ASAP. He completed the complex work with plenty of time for our friend to host her party that evening. Our friend in Geneva and I have recommended Hayes Home Improvement to many people in need. It’s been too long for me to remember the outcomes. Now, Ex-Wife needs many Home Improvements needing attention. I have recommended Scott. I’m certain Scott will be on top of her list. After moving into our new home we needed some help from a handyman and employed Scott Hayes. Scott assured us that he would give us a good deal, I repeatedly asked Scott what things were going to cost and he repeatedly stated that I should not worry, that he would be fair and he had not gotten around to writing anything up. About three weeks after Scott was finished with the work at our home; Changing a dryer from electric to gas, moving the washer, dryer, and water softener to the other side of a sink, installing a flapper in a toilet, realigning a flapper, fixing the leak in the kitchen sink, I received a bill in the mail charging us $78 an hour. I was shocked and called Scott immediately and I left a message, my husband and I continued to do this for two weeks until my husband was finally able to reach him and discuss the bill. He explained that we could understand a more expense rate for the plumbing work but $78 an hour to realign a flapper, change the dryer to gas and move the washer, dryer and water softener over, we could not. Scott said he was sorry but that was that and offered no compassion to the fact that we would of never hired him at a rate of $78 an hour because that is out of our price range and to be quite truthful that is not a fair price. Buyer beware and make Scott tell you his fee up front before he does the work as he will take advantage of you.

Hayes home improvement did the best work i have seen. They were the fairest on price and were way under other plumbers we have used. Recommend.. absolutely!
