Barr Engineering Barr Engineering, Inc. (BEI) provides QC/QA testing and inspection services for Portland cement concrete, mortar and grout, and hot mix asphalt performed by ACI and ODOT-certified technicians in the field and our laboratories. We operate testing facilities in Columbus (2 miles from Port Columbus International Airport) Cleveland, Ohio (Centrally Located Downtown), and Lansing, MI.
In-field testing and inspections are performed at the construction site or at the material batch plant. Field vehicles are fully outfitted with testing equipment and supplies, and we utilize a climate-controlled trailer for on-site storage of concrete test cylinders when environmental conditions are expected to be outside acceptable parameters.
Laboratory tests are conducted at our AASHTO R18 certified testing facility. Our lab facilities, equipment, and personnel are regularly inspected and evaluated by the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) and the Cement & Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL).
In addition to hard copy records, BEI posts all field and laboratory test data and logs on our secure login website for easy reference and retrieval by our clients.
