About Charlton Motors: Meet Gary Charlton . . . Get to know a Lewisville Used Car Dealer you can trust! Charlton Motors began in Irving, TX, where my wife and I operated the business on a part time basis until 2007, when I decided to leave the corporate world and operate the business full time. As a third generation Texan, I grew up in West Texas. My family owned an independent auto dealership, where I learned all facets of the car business and how to treat customers. After graduating from An...

I purchased a truck from this dealership at the end of 2015. I decided to write a review now, in 2019, because a few things have always bothered me about the transaction. Here they are. They told me there had been one previous owner, that was true. They told me it was a commuter vehicle, explicitly claiming it was not a work truck. The first time time I washed it, a business logo appeared on the back windows. It can only be seen in certain light, with a thin layer of moisture applied. But, it does seem like it was, in fact, a work truck.
Next up, come time around a year after purchase. Paint on hood, bumper and above wheels faded. The paint does not appear to be original on these parts. Lost their shine. I would speculate they aren't even the original parts. I do not know the details, but reviewing the carfax I see the vehicle was partially rebuilt just before the ownership transferred from the original owner to Charlton. But they did not mention that. Did they not know? Or did they just lie to me?. I guess when the dealer tells you something to your face, you have to check the carfax and not trust what they tell you. But I did not know that. I was young and naive (still am maybe).
Thirdly, the salesman mentioned he had been driving the vehicle personally prior to the sale. I would rather not know that the salesmen drive around in the vehicles until they are sold. That kind of taints the experience, eh?
Fourthly, when going over financials, the salesman asked how I made my money and complimented my salary. Next, he bragged that he, in fact, made more money than I did. Well, good for him. Not quite so professional, huh?

**buyer beware** my first and only yelp review.
Charlton motors. Wow where do I even begin. Let's start with NO gas in the tank upon delivery and oils/grease everywhere within the interior.
I bought my dream car, a 2006 corvette from this shady used car dealership. The "service dept" called: "Sergio" installed a new clutch kit. After 5 days of owning this nightmare corvette I sunk $1800 Into a NEW clutch kit because of improper installation or as referred to from Sergio as "good enough" (took an orbital sander to flywheel rather than resurfacing the flywheel as ANY ASE mechanic would have machine re-surfaced the flywheel). Causing catastrophic clutch failures which sounded like a can of rocks in my engine. This was then resolved by ME And my Wallet. (Photos and videos documented)
Here's the kicker: within the next few days (14 days of total ownership) the corvette overheats so I take it back to my corvette shop where they replace a fan and module $950...still no dice. My ASE corvette experienced mechanic tells me the WIRING HARNESS in the vehicle does not match the vehicle vin!!!!!!! And he is nervous about working on the corvette all together every computer module is throwing codes. And that I should return the vehicle to dealer.
I get on the phone with Paul who is supposedly an owner who tells me verbatim: "IM NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF BUYING CARS BACK WITH PROBLEMS and I AM COVERED ON MY (his) END LEGALLY IF I WOULD LIKE TO TRADE IT BACK I WOULD TAKE A HIT ON PRICE
