I live in a building that has a very strict no pet policy, no leniency at all. One day after a rather long day at work (my boss somehow got his tie stuck in the shredder and that was quite the spectacle) I get home and there’s this rancid smell in the apartment and I hear some shuffling around in my roommates room. I open the door and I see this ferret running around the room, clearly it had soiled itself in my roommates absence. Disgusted and appalled I called the superintendent to call animal control to come pick up the animal. After they got the ferret out of the apartment the super informed me that the landlord was starting legal proceedings against us for violating our lease and having the ferret in our apartment. Determined not to suffer for the mistakes of my roommate I convinced my landlord to drop all the charges if the offending occupant left the building. It took a lot of convincing and back and forth but ultimately I got my roommate to move out and the landlord dropped the case. I went on Roomster to rent out the newly available room and I have to say it was such a pleasant experience. Made a simple listing within a few minutes and a week later I had a new roommate moving in. Thank you Roomster for making this difficult time in my life that much easier.
