Skaggs Hospital in Branson MO is looking for a new alliance and /or a strategic partner. Why would any respectable hospital want to partner with Skaggs? I have lived in the Branson area for 18 years and have found that Skaggs Hospital has garnered a bad reputation. The day I moved here I was told that Skaggs was sufficient enough for minor injuries but never go there for an emergency. Unfortunately, Skaggs is the largest and closest hospital in this area. My mother was a healthy, active woman who was working (2) jobs at the age of 69. One day she didn’t feel good and she could not get a reading for her blood pressure as it was so high. My father took her to Skaggs. They sent her home with some pills. She went back within a few hours and they admitted her. The ER doctor specifically stated that it was imperative how fast they brought my mother’s blood pressure down or it could cause a stroke. A few hours later my mom suffered a stroke. She had to quit working and my parent’s lost half of their income. She suffered paralysis on her right side. With therapy she can walk but finds it difficult to maintain her balance. She has suffered problems with her speech. Most people do not notice it but it is a struggle for her to enunciate words. She has paralysis in her right arm. She can’t drive; brush her teeth, cook, yard work or anything that she used to enjoy doing. My mom filed a complaint against Skaggs. Now Skaggs is lying about my mothers visit.
