On February 15, 2024, I approached a man who was working on a driveway, seeking information about a concrete quote for my home. As he turned to face me, I noticed he was drinking a beer, and the scent of alcohol emanated from him and his breath. Initially disregarding it, my sole focus was on obtaining information for a quote, as I had already requested quotes from several companies and wished to explore all available options. After requesting quotes and distance fees, the man suddenly began yelling aggressively, instructing me to back off from behind him. Despite maintaining a considerable distance, I calmly explained, "Sir, I didn't intend to startle you. I'm simply seeking information for a quote. May I have your name, please?" He identified himself as Isaac. Expressing my concern about his reaction possibly being influenced by drinking on the job, I requested to speak with a supervisor who could assist me more effectively. In response, he angrily told me to leave, asserting that he was the supervisor since it was a family business and refusing to deal with what he deemed as a rude customer. Amidst this chaos, Isaac called out to a man named JoJo in a red truck, who emerged from the vehicle adjusting his pants (buttoning and zipping his pants), while a woman inside appeared to be cleaning her mouth and fixing her hair. The implication was clear to what was going on. Feeling deeply disturbed, especially with my wife and daughter witnessing this disturbing and public display, parked on the side of the road, so very well visible. I demanded to speak with a manager or threatened to involve the police due to their obscene behavior. Isaac insisted that he was the manager and demanded that I leave. Both Isaac and JoJo positioned themselves as if they were ready to take action, and the unmistakable odor of alcohol surrounded them. In response, I asserted that I am very well known in Texas stating that I have numerous properties across Texas, including East Texas, and that I would use my connections to ensure that SMS Concrete and Martin Brothers Concrete never receive business. If you're the owner of this company I would highly advise a new team. Your business will be ruined to the ground.
