JOB SEEKER ALERT: If you are considering applying for work at this location, be advised that not all employers at this address follow the Employment Standard Act of Ontario. One example of said act violation is requiring new hire employees to complete 2 weeks of unpaid training. Another example violation is withholding and blatantly refusing to pay wages for regular hours worked. What employer is that you might ask? Foreign Exchange Centre, owned and operated by Mina Nanji. She is offering morning/evening shifts, at 40 hours per week and 2 days off. However, after a few weeks when you have finished your FREE training she is letting you know that you will work only evening shifts and she is cutting your hours to as little as 4 hours/day, forcing you to give up one of your days off to make up the lost hours. I worked at Toronto Eaton Centre last summer for Foreign Exchnge Centre owner/operator Mina Nanji and she refused to pay me my 20 hours training, and also punished me for asking about it by not paying me my last week wages. The Ministry of Labor issued order to pay, but she is still refusing to pay, and evading their attempts to contact and speak with her. I have brought my story to the media with the hopes that this will help her understand that you can not abuse hard working Canadians like this without people knowing about it.
