This individual/company had done the occasional repair to rental property that I own. Recently I did a major renovation to one of the homes and used this unlicensed contractor. The work was decent in some areas and horrible in others. As an example, he installed pre-hung doors and some weren't even square and as a result there's a gap when closing the doors. Additionally, prior to hanging the doors he installed ceramic tile in the bathrooms and extended it too far, so when the door is closed you can see the tile extending out beyond the closed door. The grout job in the guest bathroom is terrible...in the corner the grout line goes from wide at the top to narrow in the middle and back to wide just above the tub. What i also discovered and what is most troubling is that his word means nothing. He quoted me prices for each stage of the project, but then would raise the price as a result of a "problem", yet he would never disclose the "problem" until AFTER the work was completed. I was overcharged hundreds beyond his original quote. Learn from my mistake...avoid unlicensed contractors and avoid this company/individual (Peter Assetta).
