Community advancement of environmental initiatives The Green Communities is a coalition of building industry representatives and municipalities that fosters the use and promotes the benefits of green homebuilding practices on a communitywide basis. Buyers can be assured that green homes built by Alliance members represent a balanced approach to the use of modern, sustainable materials and technologies in the construction of high quality homes and their benefits. The Green Communities Alliance awards the Living Green designation to homes that meet the strict guidelines of the ICC National Green Buildings Standard. Living Green homes use up to 30% less energy than standard built homes. Living Green is a commitment to quality, convenience, affordability and to the health of our fragile planet.
