Akam will make up stories to keep your security deposit!!! Avoid at all cost!!!!! I was treated very poorly when I came to pick up my belongings from the apartment. The locks on the door were changed. I was profiled and discriminated against because I am a young, petite, Hispanic woman. The Super deliberately smiled and told the maintenance and doorman not to help me. The Super told them they would be fired if they tried to help me. I was harassed, laughed at and insulted as I was shaking in fear for my life. I called the police. I felt exploited and the Super's behavior to be egregious to discriminate and make me feel powerless while I was just trying to move my belongings out of your building. I was trying to move out as quickly as possible as the service elevators were being used by other tenants. I did not feel safe in the building and the way I was treated was inhumane. I am currently going through counseling to move past the trauma. I was adhering to the building's code. I have consulted with my attorneys, and they are appalled that I have been placed in this position at this particular time when I did everything to fulfill my legal lease obligation. On top of all of this, they decided to fine me by keeping my security deposit. I get harassed and then I get fined for it... this is injustice.
