Beyond The Block, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization formed in 2009, to promote learning and understanding of global cultures through travel The purpose of this organization is to facilitate travel (primarily international) and develop reciprocal culture sharing between youth (ages 13-17), who otherwise would never have the opportunity to travel abroad (for example, those from underprivileged neighborhoods and/or families of lower socioeconomic status who cannot afford travel expenses). While on location, participants will contribute to the hosting community through charitable work /volunteerism, as well as, learn about the history and culture of their destination as tourists.
