I made an appointment for an eye exam at what I thought was Eyemart in Eugene on Coburg Road. I provided them my insurance information almost a week prior to my appt. and went to my appt. this morning at 10:00. I completed my paperwork and had to wait for my appt time. I had already told them that I probably wanted to use my insurance benefits for glasses and pay for my contacts our of my own pocket. The lady at the eye doctor office asked if I wanted to look for glasses while I was waiting.When I was done with my exam, the lady at the eye doctor office told me that I needed to pay for a contact lens fitting fee of $70.00 in addition to my $159.00 exam fee. I was quite surprised at the high expense. I asked the lady if she could tell me what the insurance would pay toward glasses. She said I would have to pay the fitting fee or she would apply it toward my contact purchase. I did not want to purchase the contacts because glasses are more expensive and I wanted to use the insurance benefit for glasses. This lady became very agitated and started yelling at me. I was only trying to find out what my insurance allowed for glasses vs. contacts. Immediately when I first walked in the office I thought this lady had a drug problem because she was acting like a "tweaker", running around the office, forgetting what she was doing, etc...
