Named after its original charter sailing vessel, the Schooner Dirigo II, Dirigo Sailing operated out of Long Beach, CA, until the schooner's sale in 2010. Named after its original charter sailing vessel, the Schooner Dirigo II, Dirigo Sailing operated out of Long Beach, CA, until the schooner's sale in 2010. We are now rebuilding our fleet and will operate primarily in the Chesapeake Bay. We expect to offer crewed and bareboat charters of traditional sailing vessels, operated for the time being as uninspected small passenger vessels under 100 gross tons (46 CFR Subchapter C), which are limited to six or fewer passengers for hire for crewed charters or a total of 12 or fewer persons on board for bareboat charters. For crewed charters, we will have a cadre of experienced, Coast Guard-licensed captains (CAPCA members) and experienced crewmembers. We expect to join the American Sailing Association and the Marine Charter Industry Association.
