Pet Portraits of any pet done on what is called scratchboard. I work from a clear photograph and keep in contact through email throughout the process.
Scratchboard is a hard masonite board that is coated in white clay and then covered in layers of black india ink, so that the surface I start out with is black instead of the traditional white surface. I first sketch out your pet on paper, than transfer that sketch to the scratchboard where I then use special metal tools to scratch out the drawing and all the details.
