I had a $2,000 radar detector installed by Audio Guys, (owner Steve) and it worked correctly for two months. I have returned one time due to a malfunction of shifters. I returned another time because the unit just shut off and would not power on. I returned a third time because when I beeped my horn, the detector went off. I returned a fifth time because when I would step on the gas, the front shifters would trip. I returned a Sixth, seventh, and eighth time for the same problem to find that Steve said we will just disconnect that part of the detector and when I can get some answers from Passport, I will call you back. Well first of all, every time I have to bring the car in, I have to lose time at work; it is a hassle to accommodate Steve. The entire experience has been at his convenience. He never had any sense of urgency. I finally had to contact him to a not surprising Steve who was in Florida for a couple of weeks. Which he stated he would call me back when he gets back. 3 weeks later, I have to call him and make an appointment and when I was on my way in, I figured enough is enough, I will pay someone to fix it. We I never got anyone to fix it, but three months later the unit just shut off again. I personally took apart the dash to figure it out. Not surprised I found a not professional so called power supply to my unit from a spice in the cigarette lighter, held together with tape. Now it all makes sense.
