This year was not a good experience for me @ Plaza Professionals. I was reprimanded by Jessica McKnight for making an appointment with her office on 4/5/12 for 2011 taxes. The reason I had to make an appointment that late in the season was because of all the preparation I had to do in order to present her with my tax situation. (I am an Independent Contractor and tax prep is a bit more laborious due to records I have to keep for the tax preparer.) Rather than thank me for my efforts in making her job easier, she talked to me in a condescending manner, told me I would be better off working for an employer than doing the work I am now doing and charged me more than the usual fee because I came in later in the season than she would've like me to. She said that she actually gave me a discount due to my "limited" income and that because of the complexities of my tax situation and the timing of my appointment, she had to charge me more than last year's fee. My advise to Jessica is this: Tell your office not to schedule appointments after a certain date if it is that much of a burden for you...we all know tax time can be stressful. The stress has affected Jessica to the point, that she has made her client (me) feel like she has been "talked down" to and treated like a child that misbehaved. This is NOT OK with me and I am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. IMO, Jessica needs a massage or to take classes on "Stress Management" or "Improving People Skills".
