Worst experience with Ace Tracy Tech. The owner operator Mr. Ed Calderon runs this workshop from living room of his house which was all cluttered and disorganized at the first impression. He took my ASUS laptop for repairs and next day diagnosed it with a faulty motherboard. He initially charged $120 cash for getting the new motherboard from some Chinese contacts and later demanded $25 extra. He kept my laptop for almost one month and rarely updated me and even did not pick my call. Later on he informed me that the motherboard he installed was also not working. When I personally met him, he was all confused and demanded $100 per hour extra to diagnose the real issue, if any another part was defective. He told me that he would keep trying to find out the defect if I agreed to pay him his hourly charges. He guessed that it may be the LCD screen, may be the Graphic Card issue or something else since he had no advanced tools to diagnose. I wondered whether he was experimenting though hit and trial method. The discussion was prolonged, and another guy appeared there and shouted at me for creating such a situation and asked loudly to get out from his house. I requested them not to escalate the situation and asked him to stop any further repair attempt for the current laptop and hand it over to me. I further confronted him for another repair job done by him earlier when a faulty Hard Drive was installed by him, 8-9 months back, on my Dell Inspiron laptop. This time he refused to take responsibility and demanded extra cost for sending the hard drive back to the Chienese company, from where he bought the hard disk. I sensed something was seriously amiss and coolly walked off and finally he agreed to return my un-repaired laptop next day afternoon. He also refused and failed to give me any receipt/invoice for the any of the job work done by him and all the cash received. He also refused to accept payment through credit/debit card. Beware and learn from my experience.
