She has a residency in Pediatric Optometry and a Master's Degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry and taught at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She also participates in the Sight for Students program with VSP.
