We had Schroeder Remodeling do a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel in our house that was built in 1955. We are mostly happy with the results with a few glaring exceptions. For our kitchen and adjacent room, both on a concrete slab, Steve Schroeder suggested luxury vinyl plank flooring (LVP) and recommended we purchase the LVP from Brandon at Shoreline Flooring in Myrtle Beach. Schroeder had his worker install the floor. Planks are popping up at the edges, some click when stepped on, some areas are noticeably soft when walked on. Schroeder claims that this is because the material is defective, and that the problems are not correctable. Steve Schroeder refused to make any attempt at repair and suggested I try to work glue into the gaps between planks. At our request, Shoreline sent its installer to inspect the floor and he showed us where the floor is not level and that caused the installation to fail. Shoreline will take no responsibility. Each side blames the other and we have no recourse. Our only option now is to have the LVP removed and the slab properly leveled. If you hire Schroder Remodeling, I recommend that you have the flooring product retailer do the installation so that the workmanship is warrantied.
We had all new electrical installed in the kitchen and bathroom in order to bring the rooms up to current electrical code as required by permit. However, Steve Schroeder directed the electrician to reuse an existing circuit with no ground to feed the bathr
