Don't waste your money, call another plumber. On 9/19/19 I scheduled an appt. with Mike Lauer, owner of Lauer Plumbing for an estimate to fix a toilet shut-off valve leak for my 85 year old mother who had just come home from the hospital after having surgery. I explained that we would need to shut off the water in the building, that the building required a COI, and at least 1 week notice to let tenants know about water shut off in the building. Mike came with an assistant, spent about 10-15 minutes, said it was fixed and charged $175. He never told us he was fixing it or how much it would cost before he did it. After 15 minutes, we noticed it was still leaking. When I called him, he sent his assistant who said he wrapped it and it was ok, but it continued to leak. I called Mike the following morning Friday, 9/20/19 told him we needed to get this fixed because my mother lives alone; she has to shut the valve off each time she uses the bathroom and has to empty out a dish when it fills with water several times a day. My husband & I both called Mike many times for the last 2 weeks and he doesn't answer the phone, or return our calls. This is not right, we picked his company because he's from the same town we live in, literally 3-4 blocks away. We've lived in this town for over 29 years- this is a small community. I can't believe he would take advantage of a senior citizen this way and not do the right thing. Jeannine Lavalle
