United Volunteers helps recently released prisoners, welfare moms and others with disadvantages to get a job. We hire those that just need a little help getting back into the work force, or find their first job. We believe that a paycheck is better than a welfare check. We accepted almost any household item as a donation, sell it at one of our four area stores, and use the money to payroll. We also donate tens of thousands of dollars worth or donated items each year, and we ship clothing and shoes to impoverished countries in Africa and the carribean rim.
