When the head nurse at Monticello West, my 92 year-old Mom's assisted living facility, called to tell me they thought it was time to call in hospice, as they believed she had less than six months to live and their recommendation was Holding Hands, I was dismayed--I was under the misconception that hospice only came in for the last several days of someone's life. Within days of Aqua and his team coming on board I noticed a great improvement in Mom. They got her equipment that was much better for her and continued to modify/add to the collection in response to her increasing needs. I believe it was because of the intelligence, expert knowledge and, especially, the unimaginable love and compassion of Aqua and his team of nurses and caregivers (Mary, Kym, Jessica and Rebekah) that my Mom died peacefully, at 93, 18 months later. Even when they were not scheduled to be there, they would stop by to check on her and say hello--Mom was smitten with Aqua! I never announced when I was coming to visit and I walked in on almost every situation, witnessing only the patience of saints and sincere love for a woman they had only gotten to know, unfortunately, at the very end of her life. Everyone at Holding Hands gave a 150% in every way and I am so incredibly grateful!
