I had a very bad experience with Dr. Walkey and want to make sure that others know what they will get if they spend the (large) financial commitment for answers that they have yet to get.
From my very first interaction from her she was rude, judgemental, and expressed very little empathy. You would think that since she is working with patients who have yet to get the answers they need, and have been turned off by the Western Medicine approach, she might display a bit more compassion for her patients’ struggles. But she clearly had no interest in how her patients feel, she is merely an unprofessional narcissist who was driven out of her field because of her judgmental nature. She was never available outside of appointments for questions, and continuously made me feel stupid for asking questions about my condition (even though she told me the answers I’ve been getting thus far have been false). She informed me that all other treatment I’d received from other providers was worthless, but couldn’t give any information or facts to back up her claims, only to say that “they don’t know what they are talking about.” Anytime I asked questions to try and grasp my situation better, she would respond with a rude, condescending comment belittling my intelligence, when all she had to do was give me some facts to put my mind at ease. She also makes a very hefty cut off of the supplements that she sells. You can buy them much cheaper elsewhere but she insists that you purchase them from her.
At our most recent appointment, which was scheduled for 9:00 AM on a Saturday, we were supposed to talk about my DNA profile that was created by ancestry.com. Part of her agreement to work with you comes with your commitment to spend over $1000 in testing, even if you’ve already got the same testing done recently, and ancestry is part of that.
She clearly had double booked me that day as another patient got there at the same time I did, and I waited until 10:30 for my appointment to begin. When we started, I could tell that she was in a bad mood and was frustrated that my DNA profile was not emailed to her properly. She was insistent that her instructions were correct and the only possible outcome could be that I did it wrong, and she didn’t think she could work with me any longer. When I asked her why, and if we could do my DNA profile together to get the results, she simply stated “no” but didn’t elaborate further. When I began to express my frustration about spending all this money to follow her guidelines, waiting patiently for almost 2 hours and then being “dismissed” for absolutely no reason, she went into her husband’s office and had him come to me and make me leave. So I committed about $1500 to her in just over a month, and agreed to discontinue the advice, medications and/or supplements from my previous doctors, and stick to the plan she created. Until she decided that I was too stubborn and asked too many questions to continue treating me. I mean, how dare I ask questions about my treatment and the hundreds of dollars I’m shelling out, right?
Overall she had zero compassion, empathy or even an understanding for her patients, even though she advertised her strengths as being able to relate to patients because of the struggles they have gone through. In actuality, she only causes more struggles and heartache for those of us who have already experienced too much. I have left my other doctors because she told me that they were treating me incorrectly, but I couldn’t see them now even if I wanted to because I have no more money. I am so much worse off than I was just over a month ago, because I chose to trust Dr Marilyn Walkey. She preys on those who have struggled for years to get answers to their chronic health problems, and betrays their trust by putting them into a deeper hole than they were before.
