They are a subcontractor for Sears. They charged $169 just to bring water softener unit to home. They wanted an additional $600 just to run pvc drain line 45 feet and hoses to attach new unit to existing plumbing (had exchange resin tank)...so the hard pipes were already installed. I thought the charges were excessive and I did not authorize installation. You would think the $169 would include the attachment hoses. They wanted to charge me $125 for two attachment hoses and $400 for the installation of pvc drain line (to washer box also in garage) ..for a total of $600 plus the $169 for delivery. Almost $800 for installation for a couple of hoses, pvc drain line and delivery!
